The body of the Chameleon is set up with eyes that can move independent of each other, a long sticky tongue, strong thin legs, toes to grab to branches, and a curled tail. Their body is set up, so that they can easily climb trees and perch themselves within the tree. The tongues allows them to easily catch insects. They feed on mostly crickets, mealworms, cockroaches, and flies. Chameleons range in size from a few centimeters to 63 cm (25 in). There are more than 100 species of Chameleons in existance.

Chameleons are very fascinating creatures, but they do not make the best pets. They are expensive and very time consuming to take care of and keep healthy. They do not like to be handled too much and they could have very drastic reactions to being picked up too often. For Chameleons, you will need a large enclosure, either a wire or screen cage will do. Their cage needs to be tall with branches, leaves, and a water dish. Please do plenty of research before deciding whether or not you want to get a Chameleon for a pet.
